He spent the majority of his career at Allen & Overy, one of the world’s leading law firms, where he served as Global Managing Partner and later as Global Senior Partner (Chairman) from 2008 to 2016.

Under his leadership, Allen & Overy expanded its global footprint and doubled its revenues, cementing its status in the elite “Magic Circle” of firms. Following his tenure in law firm leadership, David transitioned into the investment realm as Managing Director and Head of Europe for CDPQ – a C$650+ billion institutional investor – where he helped identify and develop significant investment opportunities across Europe. This rare combination of top-tier law firm management and institutional investment experience gives David a uniquely informed perspective.

Wim Dejonghe is a distinguished law firm leader and strategic dealmaker with a career spanning more than two decades in the global legal sector. He served as the Global Managing Partner of Allen & Overy from 2008 to 2016, and then as the firm’s Senior Partner (global chairman) from 2016 until 2024.

In these roles, Wim led transformative growth initiatives and championed innovation at one of the world’s most prestigious law firms. Most notably, he was the architect and driving force behind Allen & Overy’s landmark transatlantic merger with Shearman & Sterling in 2023 – a deal that reshaped the global legal market and exemplified his vision for bold, strategic expansion. Over his 23-year career at Allen & Overy, Wim also guided the firm through evolving market landscapes and fostered a culture of forward-thinking leadership.

Now, as co-founder of Dejonghe & Morley, he brings his extensive M&A experience and leadership acumen to clients in the legal industry and investment community.
